Louisiana Crossbow and Archery Hunting Seasons

Deer Hunting Season

Oct. 1-Jan. 31, 2008 in Areas 1, 2, 4, 5, and 7
Sept. 20- Jan. 15, 2008 in Areas 3 and 8
Oct. 1-15, 2008 in Area 6; Bucks only
Oct. 16-Feb. 15, 2008 in Area 6; Male and female

Bobcat Hunting Season

There is an experimental all-year-round season for bobcats for the 2008-2009 hunting season. Bobcat hunters must have a big game license and can only take bobcat during the time period from half an hour before sunrise to half an hour after sunset with approved archery equipment. Bobcat hunters may not take more than one bobcat per year. This regulation applies only within the following locations: privately owned land, state wildlife management areas (WMA’s), and the Bayou des Ourses, Bodcau, Bonnet Carre, Indian Bayou, Loggy Bayou and Soda Lake tracts.


Quail Hunting Season

Nov. 15-Feb. 28, 2008 with a daily bag limit of 10 and possession limit of 20.
